What are they?

MP3 is simply short for 'missional people 3' and they are groups of 2 to 4 people who meet regularly to talk, support, pray, encourage, learn, and to have fun.

We encourage people to join these groups because the close relationships formed will contribute to a lively faith in God. It is mainly through our relationships with others that we experience the practical outworking of our belief in God.

These groups will gather and meet in many different places: some meet in cafes, pubs, others in homes. The groups aspire to be a place for honest discussion. They are a safe place where people can be supported and challenged. We also need the kind of friends who will speak into our lives to challenge and sharpen our character.

How do I join one?

By definition these groups will generally be based on friendship and be organic in the way we grow.  If you are 3 or 4 people and want to start meeting as a group – it is very simple.  All you have to do is chat with the other people in your group and agree that you want to be an M3 and that you are comfortable with the commitment principles.

The basic commitment principles

  1. We meet to encourage one another.
  2. We share together and pray for a friend or a project.
  3. We will share what God is doing in our lives.
  4. We will bless (Hebrew barak “to empower to strengthen”) so that we can bless others.
  5. We will encourage one another to listen to God and to read the Bible.
  6. We will make meeting fortnightly a high priority.
